The Nortel CDMA Packet MSC (P-MSC) is a complete switching solution using all, field-proven, 99.999% available platforms providing operators the value of network packetization while continuing to deliver a high quality voice offering. With the Nortel P-MSC wireless solution, operators benefit from a reduction in operational and capital costs, through central office (CO) footprint and utility reduction as well as transport optimization. In addition, by migrating to IP and SIP, operators gain the voice quality improvements and operational efficiency for 4G evolution.
The Nortel P-MSC is a high-capacity packet switch designed to control a multitude of remote radio networks, therefore reducing the number of switching offices operators are required to build and operate. This distributed architecture also reduces BTS backhaul costs by deploying a remote BSC away from Central Office and closer to the mobiles.
Nortel's leadership in Voice over Packet and Wireless networks provides the expertise necessary to deliver a best-in-class P-MSC solution to wireless operators.
