Nortel's award-winning Network Access Control (NAC) solution, known as Nortel Secure Network Access (SNA), delivers endpoint security through unified access policy for wired, wireless and mobile users. Ensuring that only trusted users utilizing compliant devices can access network resources, it prevents the spread of viruses and worms, protects against data leakage and provides full network visibility. In addition, it automatically provisions role-based access, delivers quarantine and remediation and allows for centralized management throughout the entire enterprise.

At the heart of Secure Network Access is the Nortel Secure Network Access Switch (SNAS). Acting as a centralized controller, it controls and automates network access for both managed and unmanaged users and devices. The SNAS is tightly integrated with network access elements to provide the Nortel Secure Network Access solution . These network elements, including Nortel Ethernet Routing Switches , WLAN controllers and other third-party edge devices, deliver flexible infrastructure enforcement options including both VLAN and/or access control list traffic filters. With the Nortel Health Agent, the Secure Network Access solution provides remote access endpoint security through the Nortel VPN Gateway and VPN Router portfolios.

Nortel Secure Network Access is ideal for small, medium and large organizations and features enterprise-class scalability and clustering. It supports flexible enforcement mode options including 802.1X, SNMP, Nortel SSCP and DHCP and provides rich integration with Microsoft NAP.

• Secure Network Access Switch 4070
  The Nortel Secure Network Access Switch 4070 is a high performance NAC appliance designed for large enterprise deployments. With added features including redundant hard drives, power and fiber NIC, a single SNAS 4070 supports over 6000 concurrent endpoints.
