The Ethernet Switch 8100 (formerly Passport 8100) was  manufacturing discontinued  on October 31, 2005.

Customers using the Passport 8100 should consider using the Ethernet Routing Switch 8300 as a replacement. This product is backwards compatible with the Ethernet Switch 8100 and is recommended for customer to migrate to the Ethernet Routing Switch 8300. Additionally the Ethernet Routing Switch 8300 supports high density Power over Ethernet (802.3af) and has 4 times the throughput.
